download-15Bridge cameras fill the gap between single-lens reflex cameras and point-and-shoot cameras. These cameras look exactly like your DSLRs, but when you take a closer look at the lens, you will immediately spot the difference. A bridge camera doesn’t have a removable lens, while the DSLR does. Also, the viewfinder (if present) will be electronic in bridge camera, and not optical like the DSLR.

These cameras are equipped to give you super zooming options and wide-angle lens shots, but with manual setting features. Depending on their weight, maximum zoom, and lens angle, bridge cameras are classified into two categories, namely superzoom bridge camera and high-end compact bridge camera. The important features of both these cameras are mentioned below. Depending on your needs, you can choose the right one.

Buying Camera Tips For First Time Buyers

Posted on June 12, 2016 By

download-13When buying a new digital camera, take the time to not only read the manufacturer’s specifications, but also to find out if they represent the camera’s true capabilities. Quite often cameras are advertised with high resolution, which is achieved via interpolation and “total zoom,” which does not give you the desired magnification that you might be looking for. Listed below are some of the features that you should look into before partying with your hard-earned cash:

  1. Check if the camera comes with manual settings – a camera that allows the photographer to manually select at least some of its settings gives that photographer better control over the outcome. The vast majority of the digital cameras come with Auto mode, which allows the users to point and shoot without having to worry about ISO, exposure, or white balance, but the Auto mode might not always produce high quality photos. A user who wishes to take clear photos in challenging lighting conditions and in different shooting situations, should consider a more expensive digital camera with a number of manual settings.
  2. Check the zoom factor – if the specs

Guide for Choosing Best Tripod for a Camera

Posted on August 20, 2016 By

A tripod can make all the difference between good and bad photography. Thus, amongst all the camera accessories, the tripod is the most important one. Stability at low shutter speeds and support for heavy cameras are the main reasons behind buying a tripod. In this Buzzle article, we have highlighted the things to look for while buying one.

The make of the tripod is the first feature that you should look into. Carbon fiber, aluminum, and basalt are the main materials used to make the tripod legs.

◆ Lightweight aluminum tripods lack the strength and thickness that are needed to keep the camera steady, while steady aluminum tripods are very heavy. However, they are cheaper than the other materials and thus, are widely used. You will find most media camera crew using an aluminum tripod.

◆ The carbon fiber tripods are light in weight and rigid, but come in trendy designs. These have a reputation of getting damaged when you drop them. However, due to their aesthetics, these tripods are costly.

◆ The new entrant in this market is the basalt tripod. They are low-end versions of the carbon fiber tripods, but lack the rigidity of its competitors.

Posted on August 18, 2016 By

Owning an SLR camera gives you the opportunity and the tool to click some stunning photographs, but you also need to maintain your camera properly and clean it from time to time so that the quality of the images that you click does not suffer. People who use their cameras outdoors a lot will soon find that their picture quality is dropping, and this happens because of dust, grime and other particles that get attached to the sensor of the camera itself. Cleaning your SLR camera is something that you should undertake at least once a month, and if you are an outdoors person, then the frequency of this process should be even greater.

How to Clean Your Digital SLR Camera

How to Clean the Viewfinder of a Camera

Posted on August 17, 2016 By

Always read the owner’s manual very carefully before you try to do anything related to your camera. Before you start to clean your camera’s viewfinder, you need to first determine whether the dust has settled on the exterior or interior of it. Once you determine that, you should start cleaning this part of the camera.

If you have to clean the interior of your camera’s viewfinder, then you have to be very careful while doing so, to avoid damaging the delicate glass and other smaller components inside the camera. Usually, most camera owners give their cameras to a professional for cleaning, but if it is only the viewfinder, then they prefer doing it at home. Tips for Birthday Party Photography

Posted on July 16, 2016 By

Birthdays – no matter how old you grow, you never grow out of them! My Dad will turn 66 this year, and me and Mom still buy him a birthday present and make him a nice birthday lunch, and we still go out for dinner and cut a birthday cake, complete with singing ‘Happy Birthday To You’! Yes we do it, and you know what? It feels great. Boo the people who think you cannot or should not celebrate your birthday just because you are now old. It is nice to say “It’s my life”; but none of us ever really live for ourselves. We don’t do everything we do only for ourselves – even the smallest of selfish deeds has a hint of selflessness, if only you look deep enough. But your birthday is YOUR birthday. It is the one single day in your life when everybody wants to talk to you, everybody wants to be with you. It is indeed a special occasion, and it comes around only once a year. So why not click a few pictures and create memories on your special day?
A birthday is the perfect kind of occasion that begs you

Security Camera and Repairs Tips

Posted on July 14, 2016 By

Security cameras are a great asset to any business or home, but it is a technology that few know much about outside of the industry. In fact, If we’re going to be perfectly honest, few in the industry know very much about them. Sure most installers can do a halfway descent job installing them, but few really understand the technology behind them, and why a specific camera is perfect for one location, but leaves much to be desired in another location. But I digress, what you’re interested in is how to keep those blasted things running, and so I’ve put together a few tips to help you do just that.

I’ve seen techs just try one thing after another basically throwing mud on the wall to see what sticks, but this approach is both costly to you, because it is time consuming,(techs aren’t cheap) and ineffective. A better approach is to break the system down to its most basic elements, and then troubleshoot each element of the system until you find the specific area that is causing the problem. I recently helped a ghost hunter with his camera set-up. (I know, cool right!) He was preparing

Best Tips to Take Better Landscape Photographs

Posted on June 11, 2016 By

1) Use a tripod and make sure that it is stable. This prevents camera movement; essential when working at slow shutter speeds and low light levels.

2) Use your camera’s lowest ISO setting. The higher the ISO setting, the more digital graininess is present in the image. Sticking to your lowest ISO will keep graininess to a minimum and ensures that picture quality is at its best.

3) Use a cable release or self-timer to prevent camera shake when you press the shutter.
4) Set a small aperture (reasonably high F number – such as F16) and focus approximately one third into the scene. This helps you achieve a deep depth of field, thereby making the image look sharp from foreground to background.

5) Take your photographs early in the morning and at sunset. During the ‘Golden Hours’ around dawn and dusk, the light quality is warmer and more interesting.

6) Set your white balance setting to ‘cloudy’. This will warm up the look of your photographs.

7) Don’t rush to take photos. Take time to look around and think about your composition. Get into the ‘creative zone’. Observe how the scenery is illuminated by the light.

8) Compose your photograph in a

Portrait Photography Tips for You

Posted on May 8, 2016 By

People are easily the number one subject for photographs. From party snaps, to photos of children and travel shots of family members in front of famous monuments, millions upon millions of people photographs are taken every single say of the year.

Portrait photography is a little different to general people photography. The intent of portrait photography is capture and display something of the ‘essence’ of a person; to say something about their character, personality, or life.

The three most important things to get right in portrait photography are camera settings, lighting, and your relationship with your model.

Camera settings for portrait photography

Because taking portrait photographs is all about a person’s face (or if it’s a wider shot, their head-and-shoulders), classic portrait photography settings seek to remove anything distracting from the background of the shot. This mimics the effect of looking at someone’s face from very close up, and makes the subject ‘pop’ (this is photographer-speak for ‘stand out and capture attention’).

The way to achieve a distraction-free portrait photo is to use a wide aperture, often as wide as possible (f/2.8 or f/4 are popular choices). Wide apertures produce a shallow
